Description
The rosehip (or Rosa canina) is a very common wild rose bush from which the Bach flower Wild Rose is taken. With its stems armed with formidable thorns, it is capable of forming high and impenetrable hedges. It is true that its branches are as undisciplined as they are powerful. Sometimes the rosehip seems ready to collapse under its own weight. It is then tempting to underestimate the shrub. In reality, he is full of resources. And beneath his wild, messy and sometimes tired appearance, he shows great vigor and great creativity.
Its flowers can be white or a pretty pale pink. They bloom in light clusters throughout the summer. They produce a fragrance that is very popular in perfumery. At the end of this abundant flowering, the rosehip produces rose hips. The famous “itching hair” is as delicious in syrup as in jelly. It is appreciable dried, in infusion or decoction. The rosehip is a remarkable rootstock, which makes it possible to create sublime rose bushes.
